A recent study came out in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry supporting evidence that some children diagnosed with Autism will reach “optimal outcome” and no longer qualify for an Autism Spectrum diagnosis. Dr. Jonathan Tarbox talks in depth about the study, what it means and why makes no claims about children “outgrowing” Autism, as has been widely and incorrectly reported. This study is new, but it follows more than 2 decades of studies showing that some children with Autism do recover and become virtually indistinguishable from their neuro-typical peers.
