Autism Jargon: Generalization

Today’s Jargon is Generalization! Generalization happens when a person is able to successfully apply what they have learned in situations and circumstances where they have not had previous instruction. Generalization is one of the hallmarks of a quality ABA program. It is essential that any lesson that is taught have a clear plan for how it will be generalized before the first lesson is even attempted.

Smarty – January 2015 Recycled Crayon Reveal

This month’s Smarty craft is extra fun! It helps to use all of the broken crayons in your home and create new fabulous crayons! With those new crayons kids can create fun “scratch and reveal” paintings. The craft is inexpensive and helps children to work on skills such as pincer grasp, holding a pencil, using a paintbrush and more! Enjoy this fun craft.
