CDC Autism Rates 2014

Julie Kornack speaks about the CDC’s newly unveiled Autism prevalence rates. Today it was announced that 1 in 68 children in the United States are affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. This represents a 30% increase over the previous numbers of 1 in 88 released in 2012. It is estimated that 1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls now have Autism. Julie Kornack, a policy analyst for the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, helps us to understand the context of these numbers and what the initial national response appears to be.
